Sky Bear ALC is named after Ursa Major, a celestial constellation that has inspired and guided our ancestors across many cultures and geographies throughout time. This constellation has been revered throughout history, and many myths and creation stories have been woven around it. As our ancestors have done when looking up at the stars, at Sky Bear, we reconnect with our roots and chart an inspired path towards our future. We strive to embody a sense of purpose and direction that our ancestors found in the Great Bear.

At Sky Bear ALC, we embrace the power of radical liberation and believe in granting children their birthright to freedom. Our goal is to create a world where youth can flourish and reach their full potential, unencumbered by systemic oppressions and limitations imposed by society. By providing a self-directed learning environment that nurtures the innate intelligences and wisdom of young people, we are breaking down the chains of conventional education and paving the way for a brighter, liberated and more equitable future for the next generations.
